Auto Italia (in South East England) is offering grant writing support for visual artists, curators and producers, it’s first come first serve until the end of May – so get your skates on!

UK Artist Grant Writing Support is a network of artists, curators and producers working in contemporary art organisations, who are coming together to provide in-kind support to artists requiring help with emergency grant applications. This network has been established in light of the COVID-19 pandemic and its increasingly serious economic impact on artists.

We recognise that artists in our communities encounter barriers in accessing grant support, and that the skills and experience generating applications for funders and stakeholders are often disproportionately held by producing staff within organisations. This is a callout for artists who feel that they need feedback on their application as part of the grant writing process. Together we will offer feedback on application drafts to those who feel that they need some extra support. We particularly welcome requests from those who are underrepresented within the arts and face multiple barriers, in particular BIPOC and LGBTQI+.

UK Artist Grant Writing Support will be providing support over the next eight weeks, and hope to help as many people as possible. The current working group is comprised of:

Mary Cork, Founder at ZELDA
Eoin Dara, Head of Exhibitions at Dundee Contemporary Arts
Edward Gillman, Director at Auto Italia
Ellen Greig, Curator: Commissions at Chisenhale Gallery
Laura Hensser, Managing Director at Gasworks
Deborah Joyce Holman, Associate Director at Auto Italia
Kim McAleese, Programme Director at Grand Union
Kate Phillimore, Founder at ZELDA
